Welcome to Our Site!

This site is a resource for anyone interested in learning Qigong.  It also serves educational tool for patients of Costa Acupuncture and those who have taken classes with Michael Costa, L.Ac. in Los Angeles.

Qigong, also commonly spelled Chi Kung, is a system of therapeutic exercises designed to harness the bodies internal healing mechanisms to promote health and well being.  While there are many styles and systems of Qigong taught throughout the world, the most important thing is to choose one style that suites you and practice consistently for twenty minutes daily in order to receive the health promoting benefits.

It is not important what type of qigong you practice, but it does matter whether you practice or not.  The practice of Qigong is cumulative and has increased benefits over time.  You may not feel much at first, but as months and years go by you will experience greater and greater results.  This has been my personal experience with this simple yet powerful healing system.

There are two basic categories of qigong exercises: Static and Dynamic.  Static exercises involve holding a specific posture for prolonged period of time.  Dynamic exercises use coordinated movement and breath in a repetitive manner.
